Backstage Update On Velveteen Dream's WWE Injury Status

When will we see the NXT star on our screens again?

NXT standout Velveteen Dream hasn't wrestled since his brand's 18 September show, on which he lost the North American Championship to Roderick Strong.

That the injury was first reported on WWE Now's worked NXT injury report segment gave the impression that it wasn't legitimate, but Dream hasn't wrestled since, and it looks like he'll be missing for a little while longer.

Per Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dream is still hurt and isn't expected to return before Survivor Series, where his brandmates will compete against Raw and SmackDown stars for the first time on pay-per-view.

Dream last appeared on NXT television in October, running a dopy main roster-style "lol, Roddy Strong has a small penis" segment. General Manager William Regal has since commented that it could be a long time before the charismatic prodigy returns to action.

This explains why Dream hasn't been part of the ongoing NXT vs. the world storyline, and while his ongoing feud with Strong hasn't been wrapped up yet. Fingers crossed it isn't long before he gets the all-clear to return to television, as NXT could use his spark.
