Just how likely is it that Vince McMahon is there live for John Cena's WWE retirement?

There's been a lot of talk over the past couple of weeks/months about whether or not Vince McMahon would be there live in attendance for John Cena's WWE send off at the 13 December edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Now, Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez has chimed in to say it's "increasingly unlikely".

"Not impossible, but unlikely".

Some will point to the words "not impossible" above, and there will be those who believe it's Cena's call on having Vince in the house. TKO would have something to say about that, because it could well be a PR disaster to welcome McMahon back into the WWE fold (even temporarily for such a big occasion) due to everything that's been going on in his life since 2022.

After all, Vince is still battling a sexual misconduct lawsuit in the courts with ex-employee Janel Grant. That isn't the only legal issue McMahon has going on either - authorities are still investigating just how much Vince and his ex-wife Linda knew about the abuse of young boys former ring announcer Mel Phillips was responsible for when he was heading up the ring crew in the 1980s.

Bringing McMahon back would be bold then. It could well be totally foolish. TKO did, however, green light a return for Brock Lesnar despite his involvement in the Grant case. Vince would feel next level though.

It's certainly true that WWE would receive a ton of flak if McMahon was shown off on camera come SNME. They'd need to avoid that if he was there in attendance or face the wrath of angry fans.

So, again, it doesn't look likely that Vince will be in Washington after all.
