Backstage Update On WWE's Plans For Bray Wyatt & Alexa Bliss
Here's how WWE sees Bliss and Wyatt at the moment.
WWE currently sees 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bless as a babyface double-act, according to a new report from PWInsider.
The duo was moved from SmackDown to Raw as part of October's 2020 Draft. This led to speculation on what alignment they'd end up playing on Monday nights, though WWE now sees them as faces, which would explain Wyatt and Bliss' recent positioning opposite WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Orton, a heel, is currently managing a lot of spinning plates, with a Survivor Series 2020 clash against Universal Champion Roman Reigns and a potential Drew McIntyre rematch on the horizon. Wyatt has now entered this picture as well, taunting 'The Viper' on this week's episode of Raw before addressing him in the Firefly Fun House segment.
On the surface, Wyatt's 'Fiend' character isn't a natural babyface fit as the gimmick was originally intended to resemble a horror movie monster. Regardless, few characters have resonated as strongly with the fanbase over the past few years. As one of WWE's top merch-shifters, 'The Fiend' is a popular act, and one need only look at Twitter on a Monday night/Tuesday morning to see how well Alexa's recent turn is connecting too.
