Bayley and Cody Rhodes have cemented their spots at WrestleMania XL, picking up wins in their respective Royal Rumble matches.

Opening the show, the women's Rumble saw the Role Model enter at #3, score seven eliminations, go one hour and three minutes, and last eliminate the returning Liv Morgan. The final four came down to Bayley, Morgan, the debuting Jade Cargill, and NXT's Tiffany Stratton. Bayley would eliminate Stratton, Morgan would eliminate Cargill, and Bayley would then dump Liv out in the immediate aftermath of Jade's elimination. This marks a first Royal Rumble win for the Damage CTRL star, and it also - as pointed out by Michael Cole on commentary - hopefully sets up a first WrestleMania singles match for Bayley.

Closing out the Premium Live Event, Cody Rhodes overcame CM Punk to win his second successive Royal Rumble and continue the mission to finish his story. The American Nightmare blocked a GTS and tossed Punk over the top rope, setting up another shot at Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, as indicated by Cody wasting now time in pointing to the watching Tribal Chief. As for the final four of the men's Rumble, that came down to Rhodes, Punk, GUNTHER, and Drew McIntyre.

Elsewhere at the PLE, Roman had earlier retained his gold against LA Knight, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles, pinning the Phenomenal One to pick up the win. In the other match on this four-bout card, Logan Paul retained the United States Title by DQ against Kevin Owens; this coming due to KO using brass knuckles on Paul.
