Bayley vs. Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Official At WrestleMania 33
Another triple threat match... for now...
Coming out of a Fastlane PPV that saw Raw Women's Champion Bayley retain her title against Charlotte Flair in controversial fashion, it's been determined that the champion will defend against Flair and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 33.
Bayley put an end to Charlotte's PPV winning streak on Sunday, pinning her after Banks got involved on the champion's behalf. Twenty-four hours later on Raw, though, Bayley admitted that her win was tainted and that she felt as those she hadn't earned the right to walk into WrestleMania as the Raw Women's Champion. That brought out Banks, who suggested that she and Bayley wrestle for the title at the show of shows, but Charlotte interrupted and was none too happy with that suggestion.
Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon then got involved, taking Charlotte's side and suggesting that since Banks interfered in the Fastlane match, Flair should get the next shot at Bayley. However, she added that if Banks could beat Bayley in an impromptu non-title match, she would be added to the contest. Banks's subsequent win officially made the bout a triple threat match.
It should be noted that for several weeks, rumors have suggested that these three women and Nia Jax would be facing off at WrestleMania in a fatal four-way match, and there are still three episodes of Raw prior to the show of shows, leaving plenty of opportunity for Jax to be added.
WrestleMania airs live on the WWE Network on Sunday, April 2 at 7:00 PM ET.
