Big E Shoots On Recent WWE Moment He "Didn't Expect"

Former WWE Champion Big E "didn't expect" the company to make one specific decision.

Big E has admitted that he didn't see WWE's recent change in direction coming.

The New Day member lost his WWE Title at Day 1, then got shunted back over to SmackDown so he could reunite with pals Kofi Kingston and King Woods. That title loss wasn't something he saw coming - Brock Lesnar, who won the belt at Day 1, was only put in the Raw mix last-minute due to COVID concerns about Roman Reigns.

That late change drastically altered E's career.

The former champ told talkSPORT that he's hardly gutted about teaming with Kofi again. However, E is surprised that WWE scrapped his main event push so quickly without any real justification. Now, E says he has no choice but to focus on "doing the best with what [he's] given".

That means putting his all into the tag-team division again and probably winning the SmackDown Tag straps with Kingston soon.

WWE's decision to pull E out of the World Title picture didn't sit well behind the scenes either. Many of the man's peers were reportedly left "really upset" by the company's shift over on Mondays.
