Big Name Expected Back In WWE Imminently (WWE News)

Some people love him, some people don't, but it looks like THIS star will be on WWE TV again soon.

Pat McAfee
WWE

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that it may only be a matter of time before Pat McAfee is back behind the commentary desk on WWE television. Sources within the company tell the site that Pat's "schedule or capacity isn't quite known as of yet", but there's a strong chance he's on the comeback trail.

McAfee hasn't been a full time regular with the promotion for a while now, but did make his latest return back at the Wrestlepalooza PLE in September 2025. Previously, he'd announced intentions to take a mental health break from WWE due to exhaustion caused by juggling all of his various projects.

It'll be interesting to see if Pat joins Michael Cole and Corey Graves behind the desk on Raw, or if he replaces the latter. Similar questions could be posed about Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett on SmackDown; those 2 teams have been interchangeable at points due to Tessitore's own commitments, so this wouldn't be the first shakeup fans have witnessed recently.

Even so, it'd be a bit of a surprise if Graves was removed from his position next to Cole in 2026. McAfee would likely request working alongside his good buddy Michael though (rather than, say...Joe Tess over on Friday nights), because they've got a good rapport together.

It's worth noting that McAfee is on some rumour lists to take part in the 30-man Royal Rumble match this weekend over in Saudi Arabia. However, as Fightful Select stated, Pat has the lowest betting odds of any potential entrant in the bout.
