Shortly before Monday's episode of Raw went on the air, WWE's app announced the 19th entrant into the Royal Rumble match: The Big Show.

The Big Show's success in the Royal Rumble match is well documented. In the course of his WWE career, he's competed in the match 11 times, racking up a grand total of 31 eliminations. On two occasions - the 2000 Royal Rumble and the 2004 Royal Rumble - Big Show was runner-up in the match. Still, he's never claimed victory in the grueling bout.

What makes Big Show's participation in the bout strange this year is that "The World's Largest Athlete" already has a bout scheduled for WrestleMania - he'll be taking on Shaquille O'Neal at the show of shows. In preparation for that match, Big Show has been largely kept off of TV, and has been logging time in the gym, getting in his best shape in years.

The 2017 Royal Rumble airs this Sunday at 7:00 PM ET on the WWE Network. Also in the titular bout are Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Cesaro, Sheamus, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, and The Undertaker.
