Tony Khan has this week confirmed several new details for AEW's upcoming Battle Of The Belts event in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Speaking on Culture State, the AEW owner and founder confirmed that the TNT Saturday night special would, indeed, be an hour long. This means that it isn't feasible for every AEW championship to be defended on the show, as had been speculated when it was first announced.

Khan called the first Battle Of The Belts a "great chance on a Saturday night to expand the reach of AEW by giving the fans great championship matches." One of those has been announced thus far, with Britt Baker defending the AEW Women's World Title against former champion Riho.

Though AEW hadn't announced the first Battle Of The Belts show until late November, semi-regular TNT specials on Saturday nights were first confirmed as part of AEW's new television rights agreement with WarnerMedia back in May. This came as part of the Rampage debut announcement, along with news that Dynamite will move from TNT to TBS as of 5 January.

Meanwhile, we await further match announcements for AEW's 8 January special.
