Shane McMahon made a surprise return in the 2022 men's Royal Rumble this past weekend, entering the bout at number 28 and eliminating Kevin Owens en route to making the final four, only to be thrown out by eventual winner Brock Lesnar.

It was the first time Shane had appeared onscreen since WrestleMania 37 (April 2021), where he wrestled the since-released Braun Strowman. And now, at least for the next few months, it looks like he's about to become a regular once more.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reports that McMahon is currently lined up for appearances at both Elimination Chamber 2022 (19 February) and WrestleMania 38 (2 and 3 April).

It is believed that Shane will wrestle at these events, though while he has at least one match on the books, WWE is yet to finalise specific plans for him. This is why he wasn't involved in a significant angle at the Rumble.

Elimination Chamber 2022 will be the first time WWE has taken the titular structure to Saudi Arabia, with the event taking place in Jeddah. WrestleMania 38, meanwhile, takes place over two nights in Arlington, Texas.
