Bill DeMott's Side Of The Story: 13 Things We Learned On Talk Is Jericho

7. Make A Deal Friday

DeMott says one of the biggest deals from his training was Make A Deal Friday, which was the day when the aspiring talents could make some sort of deal - at their request - to get out of training that day. He said The Miz would suggest that they'd do 2500 squats if they could bypass the workouts and leave right afterward, and Bill was okay with that. He said some of the talents were mad they made the deal and some realized that it was actually far more work to do the squats for an hour or so. By the weekend he received a call and an email from Laurinaitis asking what he was thinking forcing these guys to do squats all day, turning the morale building that they chose themselves into something else entirely. Then he moves onto the jelly donut incident. He was reiterated that Dridays were their deal, and they always tried to see how ridiculous they could take things, and once day someone brought up the idea to do a stinkface on someone with a jelly donut. He says it was their idea, but the way it was portrayed was that he was forcing them to do these things but these were choices the talent made for themselves. He said it was meant to be something fun designed to build morale, but four years later it was taken out of context.
