National Wrestling Alliance owner Billy Corgan has refuted claims that the promotion is shutting down in a new statement posted to Twitter on Thursday.

"A quick note about the National Wrestling Alliance, which I fought for, and won ownership of a few years back," Corgan wrote. "We are NOT shutting down. So please disregard any and all rumor to [that] effect. The NWA is not and will not be for sale, and those talent who are under contract remain under contract."

The Smashing Pumpkin frontman continued, stating that the NWA is devising a way of delivering new content during this difficult time while keeping their personnel safe and maintaining high production standards. He said that he doesn't appreciate the "unsourced rumors and speculation."

Said rumours and speculation came from ECW legend Raven, who told The Hannibal TV's Devin Nicholson that he had heard "Billy's not opening it back up, he's really disillusioned" through the grapevine.

The NWA has endured a torrid time as of late. Unable to run a live event since January, the group recently lost top executive Dave Lagana, who resigned after being implicated during the #SpeakingOut moment. No new content has been uploaded to the NWA's YouTube channel since his departure four weeks ago.
