Billy Corgan Named President Of TNA
TNA may have a new leader.
In surprising news, TNA sent out a press release on Friday announcing that Billy Corgan has been named the President of TNA. Dixie Carter has had her title switched from President to Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer.
It's not quite clear yet what this all means. Corgan invested money into the company recently, and now may be taking over the entire direction of the company. Dixie still has some power, but right now it's hard to say how much, and who has final say on everything.
Here is what Corgan had to say in the press release:
"I believe in this company, its passionate fans, the talented roster and the dedicated staff and crew. I am committed to this great opportunity and will use all of my resources and connections to drive the success of this company. This year we have made significant strides in establishing a strong foundation for our future and will be aggressive in continuing to evolve and grow the IMPACT brands."
If Corgan is the go-to guy now, this is likely in the best interests of the company. TNA has had a few rough years (or 14 of them if you prefer), and they are now finally gaining a little momentum with the additions of Moose and the former Damien Sandow. Hopefully they keep moving in a positive direction with Corgan at the helm.
