According to Chris Jericho himself, 'Le Champion' was originally set to go to war with Mike Tyson at AEW's recent All Out PPV.

Speaking during his latest edition of Chris Jericho's Saturday Night Special, the former AEW World Champion revealed that the original plans for All Out didn't involve him battling against Orange Cassidy in a Mimosa Mayhem match. He was actually supposed to share the ring with boxing legend 'Iron' Mike Tyson.

In Jericho's words:

"Originally, I was supposed to work with (Mike) Tyson at the September pay-per-view, All Out II, and we just couldn't get it done in time. The second match I had with Orange (Cassidy) was originally going to be the Mimosa Mayhem Match, but we moved it to the rubber match position."

When Tyson and Jericho took part in an all out melee on an episode of Dynamite back in May, many fans assumed this would lead to match or at least another appearance further down the road. However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the proposed match didn't come to fruition due to Tyson's commitments to his upcoming fight with Roy Jones Jr.

The former WWE man's comments now seem to confirm this to be true, but perhaps a match with Tyson could be set up once his November exhibition bout is in the rear-view mirror?
