Booker T Reveals Unique Request After Becoming WCW Champion

WWE legend Booker T asked WCW management for just one thing after becoming World Champ.

Yes, yes that is a screenshot of Madden NFL 2000 on PS1.

Booker T has revealed, via his podcast, that he only had one request upon becoming WCW World Champion for the first time in July 2000: He wanted WCW's roster to be able to play Madden backstage.

That was literally it - the ex-WWE man told listeners that WCW top brass offered him a private locker room for shows. Booker said he didn't want that, but he did fancy having a 50-inch TV "on the truck" so he and other workers could play video games backstage before Nitro, Thunder and house shows.

WCW officials said they could arrange that.

Book believes he was one of the first wrestlers to even think about playing video games behind the curtain. He has fond memories of getting together with the men and women of WCW's roster to have pre-show tournaments, and claims he was "the king of Madden" back then.

Wrestlers playing games backstage is common now, but that wasn't the case at the turn of the millennium. So, there you go. Booker was a trailblazer.
