Current NXT announcer and WWE Hall Of Famer (not to mention ex-WCW World Champ, don't you know?!) Booker T says "nobody works harder" than new NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov.

Book told listeners via his podcast that Ilja is a "throwback" to wrestlers who once prioritised in-ring action over talking smack on social media. That's something the legend appreciates, because it shows him that Dragunov is keen to improve himself as a pro wrestler every single day.

Amongst other things, Booker also called Ilja "next level", "extraordinary" and "a winner". The commentator added in that he badly wants to see Dragunov continue to succeed, but freely admitted that he had some doubts when Ilja first landed in WWE.

Those doubts have vanished with each passing match.

Dragunov put on another scorcher vs. Carmelo Hayes at NXT No Mercy last weekend, and he's poised to dominate the third brand as champion. Book believes it's been a real pleasure to see "this guy perform week in, week out".

Best of all, Ilja has never bitched about his booking or anything of the sort. He's just continued to work hard and turn heads through hard work.
