Brand New WWE Tag-Team Debuts In Online Vignette
WWE introduced this totally new team following Friday's episode of SmackDown.
Say hello to WWE's newest tag-team: Cedric Alexander and Ashante 'Thee' Adonis. The pair debuted as a unit via an online vignette shortly after this week's episode of SmackDown went off the air.
WWE posted the promo on official social media channels. It shows the duo bickering about a team name (Adonis suggested "Rags To Riches") and putting down other tags like Pretty Deadly, Judgment Day and The OC. Throughout, both men showed a decent level of chemistry with one another, which bodes well.
Cedric's biggest successes came as part of the old Hurt Business faction alongside Bobby Lashley, MVP and regular partner Shelton Benjamin. Adonis has struggled to make a splash though. His work as part of Hit Row flopped whether the group was babyface or heel, so he'll be hoping this team with Alexander goes somewhere.
It's unclear why WWE chose to air the vignette on socials rather than on TV. It's also a mystery which brand the team will be tied to. They made it clear they're coming for every tag-team on the roster, so perhaps Cedric and Ashante will start on NXT then work their way up.
