The Royal Rumble winner wastes little time in choosing his opponent for the big show.

2022 Royal Rumble winner Brock Lesnar wasted little time in declaring on Raw Monday night which title – or more specifically, which champion – he would face at WrestleMania 38.

In what shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who actually watched Royal Rumble, Lesnar announced that he will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the Show of Shows. This came just 48 hours after Reigns interfered in Brock’s WWE Championship defense against Bobby Lashley, cutting Lesnar in half with a spear and then laying him out with the title – which Paul Heyman provided in the ultimate betrayal.

Throw in how Roman defeated Brock in the title bout at Crown Jewel last fall and there really wasn’t any mystery the moment he won the Rumble which champ he’d choose. It just raises the question of whether Lesnar even needed the Rumble win to get back to facing Reigns again, considering the title match interference and Heyman’s double-cross.

Interestingly, Brock declared that the WrestleMania match between he and Reigns would be title-for-title because he intends to take the WWE Championship back from Lashley.

Moments after making that prediction (or spoiler, depending on your perspective), WWE official Adam Pearce added Lesnar to the upcoming Elimination Chamber match in three weeks, with Lashley defending his newly won title.
