While the wrestling world remains in a state of shock at the tragic passing of Jon Huber at the painfully young age of 41, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has moved to quash some recent rumours that had been circulating in certain online quarters.

Despite Jon’s wife Amanda categorically stating that her husband passed away due to a non-COVID 19 lung condition, that didn't stop PW Torch's Bruce Mitchell speculating that coronavirus played a part in the former TNT Champion’s death.

Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer proclaimed that Jon partook in COVID-19 tests before every single AEW show he attended, and that he was “tested many times while in the hospital”. Reiterating Amanda’s words, Dave stated how any such COVID complications can “be legitimately ruled out”.

Additionally, Meltzer added how Jon “did not want any photos of him in that condition” as he didn’t want the attention such images would bring to him and his family during this most heartbreaking of times.

Hopefully, this can now stop the online speculation and scuttlebutt that has surfaced in the aftermath of this most terrible of news breaking over the weekend.
