Bryan Danielson's Injury Stopped This AEW Dream Match At All In 2023

London could've witnessed another ROH throwback at All In, but it can't happen.

Fightful Select is reporting that Nigel McGuinness has officially ruled out actually wrestling on AEW's upcoming stadium show in Wembley Stadium this weekend.

The Brit also told the AEW Unrestricted podcast that he contemplated coming out of retirement for a match against old friend Bryan Danielson. Unfortunately, the BCC man's injuries halted those tentative talks, and Nigel wasn't interested in discussing any other scenarios for All In 2023.

In a classy moment, McGuinness put over All Elite's roster (which is obviously part of his job as a key member of the commentary team on Collision) and said "there are so many other guys on the card that are so much better than me and deserve those spots". However, "in the right situation", Nigel added that he'd "be crazy" not to keep an open mind to actively wrestling again himself.

Danielson was the one. The only one, by the sounds of things!

Now, McGuinness is fully focused on doing the best job possible as an announcer. It does sound like old-school ROH fans shouldn't give up on that Danielson vs. McGuinness match completely though. Perhaps it could happen in the future.
