Carlito Reveals "TERRIBLE" WWE Contract Offer (WWE News)
WWE's contract offer irked Carlito's lawyer to the point he said: "Don't sign this!"
Carlito hit the headlines in early-June after being released alongside fellow veteran R-Truth. That was reportedly Triple H's call, but Truth has since returned to the promotion following heavy fan backlash. No such luck for ex-Judgment Day member and number one backstage PS5 gamer Carlito though - he's still picking up the pieces of his latest WWE run.
Now, during an appearance on Refin' It Up, Carlito has revealed that WWE once offered him a contract so insulting that his lawyer instantly said: "Bro, don't even sign this". It was a legends deal following his comeback cameo spot in the 2021 Royal Rumble match. There, Carlito entered as #8 and lasted just shy of 9 minutes before being dumped out over the top by Elias.
Then WWE senior director Mark Carrano sent Carlito a text message with details of the legends offer. That was the first red flag to Carly - he reckons Carrano should've called him to give things more of a personal touch. That would've been more "serious" and professional, but a text was all he got.
After reviewing the offer, Carlito fired it through to his lawyer and got a hasty response. They were shocked, and the wrestler even called it "terrible". Carlito didn't, however, detail exactly what was in the contract or the general figure WWE offered him.
This wasn't even the first time they'd messed him around. In 2015(-ish), the company "low-balled" Carlito with a derisory contract offer, then didn't make a counter-offer when he refused the initial proposition. So, there's some history of negotiations ending swiftly between Carly and WWE!
He'd eventually launch a comeback after appearing at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, join the LWO, then become a surprise hit as a member of Judgment Day.
