Carlito teamed with Jeff Hardy on Raw last night, but what's next for him in WWE?

Carlito made his latest WWE appearance on this night's Raw, teaming with Jeff Hardy to face Elias and Jaxson Ryker in what was the Puerto Rican's first outing on the Monday night flagship in over a decade.

Though he didn't make the pinfall himself, Carlito's side was victorious, with Hardy scoring the win via Swanton Bomb after Carlito had softened the opposition up with the Backstabber. This came following the 41-year-old's entrance in the 2021 men's Royal Rumble, where he was a surprise entrant.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reported shortly after Sunday's Rumble pay-per-view that Carlito may soon undergo a backstage tryout to become a producer for the promotion. There's currently no word on when, exactly, this could go down, or what Carlito's interest level is.

The former Intercontinental Champion could conceivably follow a similar path to MVP, who was a surprise entrant in the 2020 Royal Rumble and re-signed as a producer, initially making sporadic onscreen appearances. MVP has since transitioned into a full-time role as a manager and wrestler in The Hurt Business.

Whether or not Carlito is scheduled for any further Raw appearances at the moment is unclear.
