With Patrick Clark, aka Velveteen Dream, recently campaigning on social media for a return to WWE, some have speculated that Dream could be the man to challenge Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American Title at this coming weekend's Worlds Collide event.

As it stands, Melo is without an opponent for this crossover show that will pit NXT talent against NXT UK talent. After Hayes took to Twitter to lambast how there's still "no answer" on a challenger for him at Worlds Collide, one fan responded by floating the idea of Velveteen Dream returning to face the North American Champ at Sunday's show.

Seemingly having zero interest in such a match, Carmelo made his thoughts clear on this matter.

For those who missed it, Patrick Clark has been pushing the #BringBackVelveteenDream hashtag on his Instagram in recent days.

As it stands, Clark last wrestled back in December 2020, where he lost to Adam Cole on NXT TV. After several months out of action, he was released by WWE in May 2021 amidst allegations of inappropriate communication with minors.

Worlds Collide will take place this Sunday as part of a packed weekend of in-ring action. In addition to WWE Clash at the Castle on the Saturday, Sunday night will also see AEW All Out take place.
