Same old, same old from WWE's Queen.

Not only did Charlotte Flair's much-rumoured return to action indeed take place at last night's WWE TLC PPV, it was a return that proved to be a hugely successful one as the Queen found herself being crowned one half of the new Women's Tag Team Champions.

Leading into TLC, there was plentiful speculation that Flair would end up as Asuka's mystery partner as the current Raw Women's Champion looked for a replacement for Lana in her quest to dethrone Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Calling upon her WrestleMania 34 opponent, Asuka brought out Charlotte as her surprise partner.

In typical fashion, it was Flair who picked up the victory here, with her pinning Baszler after hitting the Natural Selection. And while the Queen and the Empress shared a post-match embrace to celebrate becoming the new Women's Tag Team Champions, it doesn't take a rocket science to see that this pair will eventually find themselves on a collision course down the line - likely for Asuka's Raw Women's Championship, possibly at WrestleMania 37.

Until last night, Charlotte had been on a leave of absence for the past several months. In that time, Asuka has managed to thrive in a Raw women's division that has certainly been lacking in star power following the absences of Flair and Becky Lynch, the uncertainty of Ronda Rousey, and the departure of Kairi Sane.
