After winning the women’s Royal Rumble match, Charlotte Flair appeared on last night’s Raw to confirm that she’ll… be taking a little more time to think about which champion she’ll be challenging at WrestleMania 36.

When looking at the current options on the table, Charlotte vs. Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley are two matches that have been done to death across NXT and onto the main roster over the past few years. But fear not, for it may well be that Charlotte’s WrestleMania journey heads in a far more intriguing direction.

Courtesy of PWInsider, Flair is now scheduled to appear on this Wednesday’s episode of NXT. As such, logical speculation would suggest that a Charlotte vs. NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley contest is looking extremely likely if the Queen does indeed turn up on Wednesday night.

Before WrestleMania 36, of course, Ripley has the small matter of defending her title against Bianca Belair at NXT TakeOver: Portland on February 16th. Given that the Australian got a pinfall win over Charlotte in the build to last year’s Survivor Series PPV, though, there’s clearly an existing narrative that WWE creative could latch on to should they decide to go with Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley at the Showcase of the Immortals.
