Chris Jericho Makes WWE Raw Return - Enters Royal Rumble

Will he stick around to WrestleMania?

Chris Jericho returned during last night's episode of RAW and confirmed he will be taking part in the Royal Rumble match later this month. Y2J interrupted a New Day promo - a brave move I know - and announced that he would be entering the over the top rope spectacular with the aim of main eventing WrestleMania for the second time in his career. However, now we now that if Jericho does indeed come out on top he will be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, after Vince McMahon revealed the Rumble match will be for Roman Reigns' title. The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' rolla joins Reigns (C), Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, Ryback, The Big Show and Curtis Axel as the Superstars confirmed for the event. Jericho's return happened after New Day took to the ring and announced that 2016 would be the biggest year in their careers. As a gift to the WWE Universe, a New Day countdown timer started on the Titantron, and when it got down five Jericho's signature entrance started. The six-time World Champion, and his traditional flashing jacket, appeared at the top of the ramp and went on the attack, saying The New Day looked stupid in their unicorn horns. Jericho also somehow managed to get the San Antonio crowd to chant "rooty, tooty booty" at the WWE Tag Team Champions. The Royal Rumble pay per view takes place on January 24.
