Christian May Have Wrestled His Last WWE Match?

WWE has reportedly soured on Christian and has no plans for his in-ring return.

Christian is one of the few Attitude Era stars that is still with WWE all these years later. Except for a three year stint in TNA Wrestling -- from 2005 to 2008 -- Christian has been a part of the WWE since his debut in 1998. He€™s achieved some remarkable milestones in his time with the company, becoming a 9-time Tag Team Champion and a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion. However, in the last few years, Christian€™s career has slowed and may have now come to a screeching halt. On the March 24th edition of Raw, the former Captain Charisma competed in and won a fatal four match to determine a number one contender for the Intercontinental title. He was then set to face off with then-champion, Big E. However, the bout never took place as Christian suffered a mild concussion. Since that time, the so-called Instant Classic has been recovering from the injury. It€™s now being reported by F4WOnline that Christian has been cleared to return to the ring for some time now. Many are wondering what the hold up is, and there seem to be two major factors to the former World Champion€™s lack of a return. Reportedly, Christian is suffering from the typical fate of creative having nothing for him. It€™s not that surprising considering the superstar has floundered in the mid-card since his last World title reign back in 2011. The other factor keeping Christian from making an in-ring return is that WWE reportedly considers him to be €œfragile.€ His recent string of injuries has dampened the company€™s feelings on him and they are reluctant to let him return to active competition. Coupled with the lack of creative ideas for the former champion, it€™s unlikely fans will see Christian back inside the squared circle anytime soon. Rather, Captain Charisma has been doing well with the various WWE Network pre-show panels and will likely remain as a contributing voice to those segments for the foreseeable future. While Christian is by no means unable to return to the ring, it seems unlikely that he will at this time. Do you think WWE is making the right move here, or are they simply stifling Captain Charisma? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
