CM Punk: 5 Reasons He Won't Be Back For WrestleMania 30
CM Punk is probably the most polarizing wrestler of modern times. Fans love him for his skilled in-ring performances, and his trail-blazing honesty on the mic. Hes one of the few wrestlers who can do it all, and make it look easy. But he defies the current standard set by the WWE. In many ways, hes become popular in spite of what the WWE feels a superstar should be. CM Punk is neither the prototypical heel nor face. Hes an antiherosomething the WWE needs more of. His tattoos and moderate build kept him down for many years, buried in obscurity while other less talented wrestlers thrived. But no one can deny the run he had from 2011 up until now. He held the title for 434 dayssomething unprecedented in the modern era. He had possibly the most groundbreaking promo in the history of the WWE in June of 2011, followed by one of the greatest storylines ever conceived when he won the title at Money in the Bank the following month, and subsequently walked out of the company with it. Punk changed the face of wrestling, challenged people inside and out on the preconceived notion of what sports entertainment can be, and developed a core following unlike most in professional wrestling. But he hasnt been seen at a WWE event since the Royal Rumble in January. And its extremely unlikely he will make a return at Wrestlemania. Given the tumultuous relationship Punk has had with the WWE, its no surprise he left the company following the Rumble. Hes taken time off before, and many speculated this was just another stretch. However, what is a surprise is not only how long this current stretch has lasted, but also how far apart Punk and the WWE seem to be. Not to mention were mere weeks away from Wrestlemania, the undisputed biggest pay-per-view of the year. This may not be a popular stance for many Punk fans, but by all reports and signs (subtle and otherwise), CM Punk will not be making his return in time for Wrestlemania. This is a true shame, but its one fans may have to live with. Here are five reasons why Punk wont be seen at the showcase of the immortals this year..
