CM Punk Backstage At WWE Raw!
AEW star CM Punk was backstage at WWE Raw last night, before Vince McMahon got involved...
CM Punk was backstage at last night's WWE Raw in Chicago, Illinois - until Vince McMahon made the call to have the AEW star thrown out.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson broke the news on Monday. Punk was at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont visiting last night's show, briefly seeing Paul 'Triple H' Levesque in what would have been their first in-person get-together since Punk departed WWE in 2014.
Punk also met several other WWE personnel before he was asked to leave the Allstate. McMahon made this call, doing so because Punk remains under AEW contract. When this happened, Punk said his goodbyes, left the building, and that was that.
Although speculation is swirling on a potential AEW return, CM Punk is in wrestling limbo. Officially suspended by the promotion for an indefinite period after brawling with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks at All Out 2022 last September, the 44-year-old is believed to be lined up for a comeback in mid-June, with AEW looking to create a new Saturday brand, Collision.
However, none of this is confirmed; until then, Punk remains a suspended AEW wrestler, rendering him unable to negotiate with other promotions.
