CM Punk Is "Literally Having The Time Of My Life" (WWE News)
WWE feels good for CM Punk, and so does "weight" of being World Heavyweight Champ.
He's here for a good time, but maybe not a long time. Stay tuned on that! CM Punk has told Chicago's WGN News that he's having an absolute blast during his second run in WWE. The reigning World Heavyweight Champion was in town to help promote Elimination Chamber 2026 - that PLE will take place in the city's United Center, and Punk is heavily featured front and centre on early posters for it.
On WWE, Punk said: "It’s tremendous. Literally having the time of my life, and I think that resonates. I think you can see it". He also called the World Heavyweight Title "an unexpected treat", but says he's better equipped to deal with the "weight" of holding a belt that important at this stage in his life/career.
"You know, obviously I’m older, I’m more mature - and I feel like I get it now. I feel like the weight of this [title] isn’t so heavy, but I have more of an understanding now. Like, yeah...this is part of the job. I know some day this is all going to be over, so I’m really just enjoying it".
That'll be music to Triple H's ears. He and Punk have been getting along famously since the ex-AEW man strolled out to greet fans back at Survivor Series 2023. That shocking moment played before doubting glances from those who figured it was only a matter of time before CM fell out with some in WWE behind the scenes and drama ensued.
Thus far, that hasn't happened.
Punk beat Jey Uso to bag the vacant World Heavyweight Title at Saturday Night's Main Event on 1 November. Originally, he was scheduled to wrestle reigning champion Seth Rollins for the strap instead, but Seth pulled out due to injury and Hunter changed the bout with Jey into a title match.
