CM Punk officially returned to professional wrestling at the end of last night's WWE Backstage episode.

The former 'Voice of the Voiceless' arrived right at the end of the FS1 show, with "Cult Of Personality" blaring through the studio, leaving panellists Paige, Booker T, and co. in a state of surprise. Punk then marched into the ring and addressed the camera directly, saying: "it's as simple as this. Just when they think they got the answers, I change the culture. I'll see you here next week."

Per the @WWEonFOX Twitter account, he'll now be appearing periodically on the Tuesday night show:-

PWInsider have already come through with some juicy details on the situation. They claim that FOX kept the appearance a secret to all on-air personalities apart from Renee Young in order to prevent any leaks, and that his contract is with the network, not WWE. That being said, WWE gave FOX their blessing to proceed with the deal.

So WWE Backstage just became must-watch television, if it wasn't already. It's going to be extremely interesting to see how Punk receives and critiques the WWE product going forward and what else he adds to an already fun show.
