Roman Reigns took one almighty dig at WrestleMania 42 foe CM Punk on The Tonight Show.

Roman Reigns laid into his WrestleMania 42 opponent CM Punk during a fiery appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During his interview, the typically unflappable (at least in the media, not so much on WWE television when it suits) 'OTC' looked right down the camera lens and said Punk was likely wondering why he was at home whilst Reigns was doing his thing on TV.

"Phil, most likely you’re asleep right now. As you should be - you should be resting up, because you need it. You’re probably a little confused at your old age. You’re probably wondering like, ‘Why’s Roman there, and I’m…here…at home’. That’s because I’m a way bigger star than you”.

Then, Roman and Fallon grabbed one another, howled with laughter and told producers they should "cut it" there.

Of course, this was a dig at Punk's age and how injury prone he's been since returning to pro wrestling. It's all part of WWE's story heading into April's PLE, naturally. Punk himself has said some pretty cutting things about Reigns, and fans should expect a lot more of that before the company rolls into Las Vegas.

Both have been skirting a fine line between babyface and heel with their comments, which is fun. Roman knew exactly what we he was doing here - he ridiculed the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, then laughed it up with the host on national TV.

A rebuttal is incoming for sure.
