Punk has been named amongst the favourites for this year's Rumble.

CM Punk was yesterday listed as one of the current betting favourites to win the 2020 Royal Rumble.

BetOnline's current odds (h/t Cageside Seats) have Punk listed at 6/1 to take the match and earn a WWE or Universal Title shot at WrestleMania 36. This makes him the third favourite behind clubhouse leader Roman Reigns (7/4) and Brock Lesnar (9/2), both of whom were amongst the first names announced for the bout.

They are followed closely by Kevin Owens (7/1), Cain Velasquez (8/1), Drew McIntyre (10/1), and, curiously, Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan, and Finn Balor at 14/1.

Other interesting odds include Tyson Fury and John Cena at 25/1, The Rock at 40/1, and Steve Austin at 100/1.

It's impossible to read too much into this at the moment as we're still too far out from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view (26 January) for the so-called smart money to come in and alter the odds in any meaningful way. On top of this, Punk has continually reiterated that his current deal is with FOX, not WWE, and that he won't be stepping back in the ring.

Still, imagine the pop if 'The Voice of the Voiceless' was a surprise entrant.
