CM Punk Vs. KENTA Is "Never Going To Happen"

Could Punk vs. KENTA still happen at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door?

For those hoping to see CM Punk and KENTA finally face off, that match is purportedly never going to happen.

With CM Punk having now made his return to AEW, many had speculated that the Second City Saint and KENTA could lock horns at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door later this month. The pair have long butted heads over Punk's use of the GTS - a move made famous by KENTA - but a match between the two is not in the cards... if KENTA himself is to be believed.

Taking to Twitter, KENTA noted how a match against CM Punk is "never going to happen".

Of course, KENTA is known for very much being in character when it comes to his social media presence. As such, he's spent the past couple of weeks detailing how he'd face CM Punk if the money was right.

While CM Punk vs. KENTA is a perfect fit for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, the window in putting such a bout together was always going to be an extremely small one. After all, Forbidden Door takes place next weekend.

Some had speculated that KENTA could make an appearance at AEW Collision last night to set up a Punk match, though that ultimately didn't happen. This contest could still be set up in time for Forbidden Door, but time is certainly ticking in lining this match up for the Scotiabank Arena a week from today.
