WWE Backstage viewers haven't been treated to the sight of 'The Voice of the Voiceless' on their screens in close to two months, with his last appearance going down on 11 February. Punk was booked to appear on the 17 March episode but this was canned as FOX suspended production of all in-studio shows as the ongoing global health crisis erupted. Now, Backstage lurches on, with host Renee Young and her various panellists using improvised home webcam setups.

Punk was recently in the press for claiming that "wrestling is completely impossible to watch with no crowd," saying that "the audience is the 100% driving force behind what wrestlers do in the ring. When I wrestled, that was my boss."

It's a viewpoint reflected by many wrestling fans left disappointed by the current situation, as WWE and AEW continue broadcasting shows from empty arenas. On the other side of the argument are those who are just happy to have a form of escapism at a difficult time. Perhaps Punk will wade into this debate on Backstage.
