Move over Cody Rhodes. OK, maybe not, but one Chad Gable thinks he has a story to finish come WrestleMania 40 too. The leader of Alpha Academy has told the 'Battleground Podcast' exactly who he wants to face in-ring once WWE reaches Philadelphia this April.

It's GUNTHER.

Gable says he never got "closure" on his feud with the Imperium leader. They wrestled memorable matches on both the 21 August and 4 September 2023 editions of Raw; those actually followed a hidden gem on the 31 July episode, but that original wasn't for the Intercontinental Title.

The pair also worked extensively on the house show loops, and it's clear they've got great chemistry together. Chad wants to see the story through by ending GUNTHER's record-breaking IC Title reign on WWE's grandest stage: WrestleMania 40.

Gable is keen to cement himself as a singles star once and for all. He's dabbled as a solo artist, but WWE creative has always viewed Chad as someone perfect for tags. He'd like to shatter that perception and snag himself a historic moment on the 'Mania main card in the process.

Over to you, writing team.
