Cody Rhodes will "end [his] wrestling career" as a WWE superstar.

The multi-time champion was promoting the upcoming Street Fighter movie he's involved in with Flagrant when he told them that he's "just re-signed" with the company and plans to finish up his active in-ring career on WWE's watch. There's no itch to go elsewhere - Cody likes the thought of staying put and giving back behind the scenes.

Rhodes didn't reveal the length of his new deal or put an actual date on his retirement, but did offer: "When my daughter is 11 years old, I'm not going to be falling down for a living anymore". For reference, Cody has 2 little girls. One is 5 and the other is only 1 year old, so it's likely the latter he's talking about there.

The former WWE Champ rejoined the organisation in 2022 after spending approx 6 years doing his own thing on the independent scene and in AEW. Indeed, he was one of the key driving forces behind Tony Khan's venture, but there was always the sense that Rhodes had unfinished business back in WWE.

Since returning to the mix at WrestleMania 38, Cody has achieved pretty much everything he dreamed of, but clearly believes there's more to come. He did also tell Flagrant that key roles behind the scenes for ex-wrestlers like Bobby Roode and Michael Hayes give him hope that he'll be able to remain involved in pro wrestling once his in-ring career ends.

Rhodes is currently locked in a lengthy feud with Randy Orton on SmackDown.
