Cody Rhodes made quite the splash by defeating El Ligero at DELETE WCPW to become the new WCPW Internet Champion.

Live on iPPV, the 'Grandson Of A Plumber' managed to topple the hard-working masked man and bring Ligero's title tenure to a close. Now, Rhodes is looking forward and into the new year. In 2017, Cody knows he will have to fight for his life in order to hold onto that Internet Title.

Sending out the challenge personally, just as he did to El Ligero, Rhodes announced at DELETE WCPW that he planned on facing none other than Zack Sabre Jr in his very first title defence.

The 29-year old Sabre Jr is the kind of performer that has been on WWE's radar for quite some time, he even reached the semi-final stage of the Cruiserweight Classic this past September. Now, one of the world's best UK exports comes to WCPW.

This is the kind of dream match people clamoured for when Rhodes departed WWE. Even though it was brave of him to send out the challenge, Cody's WCPW Internet Title reign could feasibly end before it really gets started.
