Jake Hager will challenge for Cody's AEW TNT Championship at the upcoming Fyter Fest two-day event, as confirmed by 'The American Nightmare' himself on last night's episode of Dynamite.

Hager made his own challenge. Cody had just defeated his latest contender, Marq Quen, in a competitive main event when Hager struck, downing his future opponent. Quen then re-emerged with Isiah Kassidy and Matt Hardy and a big brawl broke out with Hager, Ortiz, Santana, and Sammy Guevara, with the Inner Circle guys joining their stablemate, before the heels were ran off and Cody grabbed the microphone.

'The Grandson of a Plumber' said he knew exactly what 'The Big Hurt' was doing, granting him a title shot. It is currently unclear whether or not the Fyter Fest bout will go down on 1 July or 8 July. Cody is currently booked to defend the belt against an unnamed opponent on next week's Dynamite.
