Crowd Favourite Set For WWE IC Title Push?

We all know that WWE stands for Walk With Elias. Since debuting on the main roster last year, the songster has been a phenomenal personality and a fantastic edition to the Monday Night RAW roster. From house shows to pay-per-views, Elias gets one of the biggest crowd reactions wherever he goes.

Many assumed that his character had a ceiling, that he'd reach a certain level of status in his comedy/jobber role and that would be his limit. However, he's now being tipped for big things and a potential title run.

Elias has already faced Braun Strowman, competed in the Elimination Chamber and defeated John Cena but now it looks like he'll be entering a programme with Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Title after brutally attacking him with a guitar on Monday night.

Furthermore, pro wrestling guru Dave Meltzer thinks that not only will he face CrossFit Jesus, it's entirely plausible that he'll win and claim his first WWE title. Discussing his title credentials on Wrestling Observer Radio this week, Meltzer said:-

Right now I kind of think the timing is right for him to win... Seth is a star and Elias, he's a star too... but it's not like he has credibility as a top guy, that's why having that title would actually help him, and Seth doesn't need that championship.

Whilst no match for the IC Title between the two has been announced for Money in the Bank, it does seem that's the way they are heading and would make sense with neither man competing in the ladder match. What's more, dropping the championship to Elias would leave Seth Rollins free to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and give us all the match we really want to see.
