Current AEW Wrestler Says He's "Winding Down" His Career

This current AEW star says he doesn't have a lot of in-ring time left.

AEW man Shawn Spears has told Renee Paquette's 'Sessions' podcast that he's "winding down" his career as an active/full-time in-ring talent.

Spears added, "I don't have a lot of time left" and said that's "probably the reason why [he] puts pressure on [himself] now". Recently, Shawn returned to his old 'Perfect 10' gimmick and turned babyface after years as a sneaky heel.

He was previously part of the old Pinnacle faction, and played a major role in Wardlow's slow-burn face turn. Now, Spears is very-much focused on himself, but admits "there are very few things" he has left to achieve in wrestling that'd give personal satisfaction.

In an interesting moment, Shawn noted that his body is still in great physical condition at 41 years old because he's never worked a "top of the card schedule". Spears hasn't been World Champ in either WWE or AEW, so he's never had to wrestle lengthy matches or appear on every single card.

Later in the interview, Spears said that he's always seen himself as a future Intercontinental Champion. Obviously, he'd have to jump back to WWE to accomplish that (or become IWGP IC Champ)!
