Current ROH Star Played The Fake Bray Wyatt During Roman Reigns Fued
ROH tag division mainstay The Beer City Bruiser spills the details on his WWE stint.
One of pro wrestling's more recent secret personas can now be laid to rest, as we now the identity of the fake Bray Wyatt that was used during the former Universal Champion's rivalry with Roman Reigns. It was current Ring Of Honor star, The Beer City Bruiser.
Bruiser revealed the news to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful as part of their Enhancement Stories series:-
They brought me in when Bray Wyatt was doing the fued with Roman Reigns and I was actually the fake Bray Wyatt that Roman had jumped a couple of times, because I have the same build as Bray.
The fake 'Eater of Worlds' was used in the summer of 2015, most notably on the 6 July edition of Raw. Attempting to ambush Reigns during his match with Sheamus, the apparent Wyatt was downed with a single Superman Punch, as Roman soon realised he had fallen victim to one of Bray's plans.
What's perhaps the most intriguing thing about this is that Bruiser actually got signed to ROH as a result. The two parties had already been in discussions, with ROH management offering him a contract soon after this broadcast.
Good for Beer City Bruiser putting his all into this. It was a rather dismal rivalry, but if a rising indie star can get a full-time deal out of it, then it's a win.
