Karrion Kross has recalled suffering complete humiliation on WWE shows during the summer of 2021.

During an interview with 'The Ringer Wrestling Show', Kross said he heard "people laughing" when he emerged wearing a Vince McMahon-mandated mask on episodes of Raw last year. The wrestler tried to brave face things, but he was left embarrassed by the gimmick WWE wanted him to portray.

The mask was especially troublesome - it was supposed to be intimidating, but it had people literally giggling as Karrion strolled past. That wouldn't do, and it caused Kross to question why he was even bothering to try and succeed in WWE at all.

He's been a lifelong pro wrestling fan himself, so he understands why people were laughing at the shoddy repackage job McMahon had put in front of them. It was a total slap in the face to anybody who had invested time into Karrion's character on NXT, and it was hardly the kind of thing that was going to make him a headliner on the main roster.

Before departing WWE on 4 November, Kross left his mask "in the props truck". He certainly wasn't taking it home with him.
