Damian Priest Defends HATED WWE Moment

Most fans despised this WWE idea, but Damian Priest doesn't think it was bad.

Damian Priest "understands" why his infamous "Zombie Lumberjack" match vs. The Miz from WWE's WrestleMania Backlash 2021 PLE gets so much hate, but he's happy to defend the idea. No, really - Priest had a great time blasting "professionally done-up zombies" during the bout.

The Judgment Day member told Inside The Ropes that he knew going in some people would dump on the concept and think it was ridiculous. Priest was a huge zombie movie fan growing up though, so he was quietly excited about the thought of hitting some wrestling moves on the undead.

Yes, yes that is a real sentence. Pro wrestling is wild!

Damian also thinks he and The Miz did a good job with what they'd been handed by creative. He reckons they made the most of the zombie gimmick, and just went out there to have fun instead of working a bout that'd satisfy "the purists" watching back home.

The "Zombie Lumberjack" scrap was roundly criticised as one of the worst matches WWE has ever presented on pay-per-view/PLE. Priest gets why, but admits he had fun trying to make something so out there work.
