Damien Sandow To Debut On TNA Impact This Thursday
Former Mr. Money in the Bank is the newest addition to TNA's roster.
Many WWE fans were irate in May when Damien Sandow's name was among a list of talent released by the company. Though the star has made multiple independent appearances since his firing, including recently for our very own promotion WCPW, his next major move is now known - he'll be joining TNA and debuting on Thursday evening's episode of Impact.
The news broke when RollingStone.com posted a video produced by TNA Wrestling touting a "big addition" to the roster on the August 11th Impact. The simple video shows little more than the phrase "He's doing things his way" (with a curious emphasis on the word "his"), but it concludes with Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus," which Sandow used as an entrance theme in WWE. Both Sandow's and TNA's official Twitter accounts tweeted links to the video.
Damien Sandow debuted in WWE in 2012, though he had briefly competed for the company as Idol Stevens in 2006. His gimmick - that of a snobbish intellectual - soon made him a hated heel, but when he took on a new role as a stunt double for The Miz, he became a popular popular babyface.
Sandow eventually stood up to The Miz and feuded with his former partner, but WWE failed to capitalize on his momentum and he fell down the card. Nevertheless, Sandow continued to get great crowd reactions until his release.
