Darby Allin will have a shot at Chris Jericho's AEW Championship on next week's episode of Dynamite, after winning a number one contender's match last night.

Seattleite Allin vanquished Jimmy Havoc for the honour, hitting him with his Coffin Drop finisher after biting his hand. Victory is also a small measure of revenge for Darby, after he was defeated by the same man in All Out's three-way Cracker Barrel hardcore match.

Allin will be AEW Champion Jericho's first defence of his title, ahead of a Full Gear clash with Cody. The Painmaker became the company's inaugural champ at All Out, where he defeated Hangman Page in the night's main event.

He has since formed a five-strong faction known as the 'Inner Circle', consisting of Ortiz and Santana, Sammy Guevara, and the newly acquired Jake Hager. With Jericho's match against Cody in Baltimore already heavily promoted, we can probably expect his cronies to do their utmost to thwart Allin's challenge next week.

Episode 3 of Dynamite is set to emanate from Philadelphia, PA's Liacouras Center. In addition to the AEW Championship contest, two more tag team title quarter-final matches are scheduled. The Lucha Brothers take on Jurassic Express, and Best Friends meet SCU.

Private Party booked their place in the semi-final this week, pulling off a shock upset over favourites The Young Bucks.
