The former Prime Time Player could be set for a long absence.

Things have really quietened down for the "make Darren Young great again" campaign in recent months.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion has made just three Raw appearances since his listless rivalry with Titus O'Neil ended in August, and while Young has wrestled regularly on Main Event, he is well and truly out of the loop.

That won't be changing anytime soon either. Young suffered a nasty elbow injury while wrestling Epico of The Shining Stars last month, and hit Instagram yesterday to announce that he'll be undergoing "major surgery" today:-

As stated in the video, there's no word on how long Young will be sidelined for. Young was projected to miss at least six months of action at the time of injury, so we probably won't see him again until late July at the very earliest.

It's another tough break for Young, whose repackaging with Bob Backlund as his life coach hasn't caught on as well as he and the company would've liked. Young received an Intercontinental Title shot against The Miz at Battleground, but that was his peak moment in 2016, and he soon found himself shunted back down the card.
