It had previously been speculated that Davey would be returning to the ring. He had posted two separate cryptic messages on his Facebook in early March indicating as such.
Having debuted in 2004, Davey Richards is perhaps best known for his time spent alongside Eddie Edwards as The American Wolves. Together, the duo were multi-time World Tag Team Champions, holding the gold in Ring Of Honor and IMPACT Wrestling, while Davey was also a tag champ alongside Roderick Strong, Super Dragon, and Rocky Romero in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
An accomplished singles wrestler too, Davey is a former World Champion in ROH, PWG, and Combat Zone Wrestling, the last of which he dropped to Shane Strickland - now Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott in NXT - in his apparent retirement match.
