Did The Young Bucks Just Diss Shane McMahon, John Cena And More?!

AEW's sneaker-loving tag-team just split opinion by making quite the bold claim.

The Young Bucks just claimed that they made sneakers a pro wrestling trend.

Matt and Nick Jackson appeared on Complex to discuss their love of the shoe. At one point, Nick said that he and his brother made sneakers trendy in the industry: "If you look on Instagram or Twitter or any social media, you’ll see wrestlers in sneakers, and that wasn’t a thing 3 or 4 years ago".

Shane McMahon would wholeheartedly disagree.

WWE's 'Boy Wonder' was rocking sneakers to the ring decades ago. Others, like John Cena, have also made the shoes part of their trademark look over the years. That's why some fans online are getting salty about the AEW duo's claim that they kicked off this trend.

To be fair, Matt did call Shane "the OG", but then said that other wrestlers didn't follow suit by wearing sneakers themselves. Cena's career kinda craps all over that argument though - JC popularised wearing retro sportswear and sports shoes as ring attire way back in 2002.

The Bucks went on to say that they'd "stumbled on something really unique" with the sneaker gimmick. Again, many fans on Twitter refuse to see it that way.
