Did Wardlow Capture The AEW TNT Championship On Dynamite?
Face of the Revolution had title shot Wednesday against new champ Scorpio Sky.
Wardlow had a huge couple of days last week when he won the Face of the Revolution ladder match at AEW Revolution, earning a shot at the TNT Championship. Days later, he severed ties with MJF and the rest of the Pinnacle, standing on his own.
But on Wednesday night, it all came crashing down to Earth, as Maxwell Jacob Friedman cost Wardlow his TNT title match and orchestrated a post-match beatdown of Mr. Mayhem. Wardlow had the match against new champ Scorpio Sky on Dynamite and was closing in on a victory when Shawn Spears distracted the referee, allowing MJF to post the challenger, making him easy pickings for Sky.

Afterward, American Top Team, Spears and MJF attacked Wardlow, with Friedman laying him out with the Dynamite diamond ring. MJF then paid off Dan Lambert, suggesting this was all a setup designed to put Wardlow down.
This kicks off another story that has been many months in the making. Tensions had been subtly rising between MJF and his former bodyguard Wardlow, climaxing during Revolution when Wardlow double-crossed Friedman in his dog collar match against CM Punk.
Wardlow still hasn't gotten his hands on MJF, who actually owns the big man's contract, so that will make for an interesting storyline to see how he gets his revenge and his independence.
